Southdown is a modern detached house set in a large garden in the hamlet of Roundway
Village, a mile from the historic market town of Devizes. We are rated 4 stars with
Visit Britain and hold both Walkers and Cyclists Welcome, along with a newly awarded

A footpath running alongside the house leads to the Kennet & Avon Canal and the attractions
and facilities of Devizes. A short walk in the other direction takes you up onto
Roundway Down on the edge of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Here you can find the Devizes Millennium White Horse (one of 8 horses cut into the
Wiltshire Downs), the site of the Battle of Roundway (1643) and Oliver’s Castle hillfort.

warm welcome and a comfortable stay. We have three guest bedrooms: two doubles with
en-suite facilities and a twin with a private bathroom. There is a guest lounge containing
books, maps & magazines etc, and a guest computer. There is also a gallery with photos
of the area, drinks facilities and more information We have wi-fi throughout the
house if you wish to bring a laptop.
Breakfast is served in the conservatory or dining room, depending on the time of
year. Both overlook the back garden. Guests are welcome to use the garden and the
hot tub (a small fee is charged for use of the latter, but is free for people on
a walking holiday).
