TAILOR-MADE TO SUIT YOU

We are delighted to have been involved in the new exhibition at the Wiltshire Heritage Museum in Devizes. This exhibition explores the major chalk hill figures carved into the landscape of Britain and includes the Ufffington White Horse, The Cerne Abbas Giant and the Long Man of Wilmington. The main focus, however, is on Wiltshire with its white horses and military badges. Each of the horses has its own display board with photos and information on its history, from creation to present day maintenance, and associated folklore and legends. Some of our photos have been used and there is also a digital display of 51 of our photos taken whilst walking The White Horse Trail. We wrote and sponsored a leaflet with a map and directions for a local walk which includes the Devizes Horse, the site of the Battle of Roundway and Oliver’s Castle, as well as a leaflet with basic information and photos of each of the White Horses. These two leaflets are available for visitors to the museum to take away with them. This is a fascinating exhibition and well worth a visit. It runs until 3rd October.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a summer school on 24th July featuring talks from the most well-known hill figure experts in Britain.
